Useful Web 2.0 Site of the Day

This is a very cool site that's also a very useful mashup of Google Maps with some other stuff... You say you're going on a walk or run and want to know how far it is? This is the answer... Put in your starting address and then click on the map to show your route and it will tell you how far you're going (or have already gone)...

I'm the Juggernaut Bitch!

I know this is a bit old, but it's hilarious for those of you who missed it (you dont have to be an X-Men fan)...

Now THAT's a video game!

Follow up on the Fox News Video Games story... This is obviously going to be on their "must-buy" list... There's a video game planned to come out in which people can use their military might to force everyone to convert to Christianity... It's linked to the book "The Purpose Driven Life"... Some people are just idiots...

Interesting article on Honda's website talking about their development of humanoid robots and showing the robots at each stage from 1986 thru now...

Google is Too Not Evil!

Look! To help people save the world (by not using fossil fuels to travel), Google has launched "green-friendly" tours of 5 major Cities... Enjoy! And make sure to click their ads along the way... I'm nominating them for a Nobel this year...

Largest military cooperation since Pearl Harbor

I'm not usually going to be doing so many Transformers: The Movie updated but this was interesting... "Largest military cooperation since Pearl Harbor and Black Hawk Down"... sounding interesting... If there's one thing Michael Bay can do, its make things go boom...

Transformers Update

I'll be consulting them before buying any games...

Fox News has launched a Video Games channel on their website... so now, i can be sure to go there first to find the games that have no sex, but tons of violence (only war simulators of course)...

Funny but a lesson to be learned...

Apparently, some guy sold his old Latop on eBay, and didn't wipe his hard drive... long story short, he had some pictures on there you might not want other people seeing, etc, etc and the buyer turned all his info into a fake blog about him... funny...

Final Superman Returns Trailer

So what do you think? Will it be good or will it suck?

Stuck in the Apple

Not sure if this is funny or sad... But Apple's neat-o elevator in their new state-of-the-art store got stuck with a bunch of peeps inside for about 45 mins... the good news: the place is open 24 hours so theyll never get lonely...

Global Warming is Real

Al Gore's new movie, An Inconvenient Truth, seems to be doing pretty well at the 4 theaters at which it opened... Hopefully it will start off a new campaign that'll get those idiots out of the White House...

The moral... Don't put your hand near a snake...

This is hardcore! Jimmy Kimmel getting bitten by a snake during the taping of his show...

Social Networks are the New Media

This is definitely an interesting write-up... This guy argues that social networking is just one example of how the Internet is democratizing media, which I totally agree with...

Cool Web 2.0 Site of the Week: Prosper

Well, every now and then, I like to share a new/cool website I find, usually one that's a "Web 2.0" site (though you can apparently be sued for using that term these days)... So here's my choice today... It's called Prosper, and if it works, it could change the financial services landscape... Basically, Prosper cuts the bank out of the loan process, connecting people who want to borrow money with those who have money to lend.. Check it out... While a lot of these new companies are doing neat-o, whiz-bang stuff, this could be a monumental business...

It's Time to Go Back... To the Future!

Looks like the DeLorean from the movie "Back to the Future" is on sale on eBay... Now tell me you don't think that's cool...

How to Propose

Now this is funny... I won't ruin it for you by telling you about it, but it's a good way to get a message across to a loved one on TV...

Robots in Disguise!

Maybe I'm the only dork out there, but I'm getting really excited about this Transformers movie coming... That being said, it'll probably suck!

Some great videos showing what the new PS3 will be able to do... I think I can hold out...

BradsDeals

I have nothing to do with this site, but with a name like this, how can it be anything but amazing! This is a good place to find out what deals are going on around the Internet or coupons for online stores... Sure, there are tons of sites that do this, but this is the only one named after me...

Everyone knows that comparing Clinton and Bush is a joke... Now we have scientific proof... Though if you ask me, Bush's numbers are still waaaaay too high...

SNL: If Al Gore were President

This comes from the Crooks and Liars website, which is a great website (if you want to get all your politics in one place, and be able to see the highlight clips from all the shows and all the news you really need to know)... Apparently, Al Gore was on SNL tonite and did a pretty funny bit about what the last 6 years would have been like with him as president... You can see it here...

Dwight Schrute's Schrute-Space

Sad bad true... This season of the Office is over... Not without a big cliffhanger of course... For those of you, like me, who will miss the show, here's a way to get your fix in the offseason... Dwight Schrute has a blog! Check it out if you dare...

Overheard in the Office

Every now and then, I'll list one of the many sites I use to fill my free time (though I have less and less of it now that I have a real job again)... This is a fun site to check into a couple times a day... Basically, people submit funny things they overhear in their offices... Updated once an hour, so it won't waste your WHOLE day, but can give you a laugh a couple times a day...

Overheard in the Office

Valleyschwag

Yes, I know I'm an Internet geek but I signed up. Basically, for $15 a month (cancellable anytime), these guys collect a bunch of schwag from startup companies into one package and send it to you each month (it's guaranteed to include at least one T-shirt, so you should at least break even). The first month's stuff looked pretty good...

Valleyschwag: Join the Party!

Google Trends

As much as I hate Google (yes I know I'm using their blogging software), I have to admit they do give away a lot of good stuff for free... For those of us who work in the Internet and are involved with search engine marketing and ad buying, Google Trends could be a very cool tool. Basically, it let's you see what search terms volumes are by time of year, which cities search them most, etc. No exact numbers, but still good to know.

No more bootleg DVDs

Guess I won't be getting any more bootleg DVDs from China (or anywhere else)...
